Fresh Herbal Tea
Makes 1 quart (32 oz.) of tea
INGREDIENTS
- 3 oz. (or more!) of leaves and stems of fresh edible herbs: Tulsi (Holy Basil), Mint, Lemon Balm, Mullein, Sage, Oregano, etc!
- 32 oz. of just boiled water. See notes for sun tea.
INSTRUCTIONS
- Rinse herbs gently in cold water and place in 1 quart jar glass mason jar or tea pot.
- Place jar on a trivet/hot pad/tea towel and add in just boiled water.
- Let steep with lid on for at least 10 min.
- Strain (or just pour with a few blossoms in your cup), pour, and enjoy!
- Keep remaining tea (strained or with herbs) in fridge for a few days. Strain for a longer fridge life.
NOTES:
For sun tea, for sure use a jar, skip the boiling water and add in cool water. Set jar in a sunny spot outdoors for 3-12 hours (or 24 if you want to add some moon tea magic in there.) Strain/pour and enjoy!
The longer you let your tea steep, the stronger it will be, and the less amount you will need per serving.
