Elderberry Vinaigrette

Sweet and delicious.  Whether you make your own Elderberry Syrup or purchase, this is a great wintertime salad dressing.

Don’t have elderberry syrup?  Sub honey muddled with other fruit, like blueberries, pears, or cranberries.

Makes ~ 1/2 cup

INGREDIENTS

  • 1/4 cup balsamic vinegar
  • 1/4 cup Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • 1/8 cup Elderberry Syrup
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt, to taste

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. In a small jar with a lid, add all Vinaigrette ingredients and shake well, until emulsified.  Alternatively, mix ingredients in the bottom of your salad bowl before adding greens.
  2. Can keep covered in fridge for about a week.
  3. Use on your all of your favorite salads!

NOTES:

Sub honey and muddled fruit for Elderberry syrup if needed.  Elderberry syrup with cinnamon and other spices makes this vinaigrette intriguing and delicious!

Feel free to add anything else in that you’d like!  This recipe is meant as a guide — substitute as needed!
