Reishi and Calendula Tallow Balm

We are excited to partner with Happy Mountain Mushrooms for a super nourishing and restorative tallow balm!

Casa Cano Farms grass fed and finished tallow is infused with Casa Cano Calendula flowers and Happy Mountain Mushrooms’ Organic Reishi.  Naturally nourishing and regenerative, both Reishi and Calendula have been used for skincare and wounds traditionally.

With no added essential oils, this is a gentle all-body balm perfect humans of all ages.

Made with a blend of our own organically grown grass fed and finished tallow and all natural lard, this recipe is a great all-body balm.

About our Tallow and Lard

We raise our livestock organically, and never use antibiotics, hormones, or other medications.  We take care to feed our livestock non-gmo and no-spray hay, and graze on no-spray pasture.  We are proud to use all of our livestock after butchering, and have chosen to use lard instead of the more common olive oil in tallow balm because of the sustainability of sourcing this second oil from our own farm, and we love the nourishing final product!   

Tallow and lard are both very similar to our own skin’s oils.  The pH and lipid profile of both oils are the same as the oils of human skin, and both oils are high in omega-3 fatty acids, Vitamin A, Vitamin E, and Vitamin D (specifically from animals that get to bask in sunlight).  Both oils have traditionally been used for healing for thousands of years, and we are taking care to use our own high quality tallow and lard, combined with organically grown herbs and organic essential oils to create a super nourishing and healing balm.
