Organic Old Cracked Farro Porridge – 1 lb

Used in Northern Italy as a savory porridge, our milled-to-order Organic Cracked Farro Porridge is a nutritious whole-grain cereal that can be used as a hot cereal or prepared polenta-style with fresh herbs and roasted vegetables or roasted meats.

 

Cracked in a fine grind from our signature whole-grain Emmer Farro, this porridge is an excellent source of protein, fiber, phosphorus, and trace minerals. It is naturally sweet, rich, and nutty, with a creamy texture.

 

Cooking time on the stovetop is 12-15 minutes.

Cooking Instructions:

On stovetop, add 1 cup cracked farro to 3 cups of water with a pinch of salt. Bring to a boil, simmer on low, stirring frequently until water is absorbed and bubbles appear, 12-15 minutes.
This can also be cooked in a rice cooker on the white rice setting.
You can also soak the cereal overnight in milk or a milk substitute with 1 cup of cereal and 2 cups of milk with desired spices. Warm if desired.
One cup makes 3-4 servings.
