Aronia berries have one of the highest concentrations of antioxidants of any fruit.  Aronia’s antioxidants include polyphenols, phenolic acids, anthocyanins, and flavanols.  Antioxidants have been shown to reduce the risk of cancer, decrease inflammation, help manage diabetes, and help with cellular repair, among other benefits.  Aronia berries are native to the US and were traditionally used to make teas to help fight colds and other illnesses.  Their flavor is slightly sweet, astringent, and makes you pucker just a little.  They can be snacked on on their own, added to smoothies, or added to pancakes or muffins.  A seasonal health boost!
